Thank you for a wonderful but all too short stay in Nizas. A wonderful place that still has the flavor of old France. Au revoir! Marcia & Jack Easterly Emma Willard

To Carole, Tony, Kids, Swissy, Sally Thank you so much for staying in your home in Nizas. It was everything we had looked for and well worth a 29 hour flight. We will certainly be spreading the word to our friends in New Zealand. Take care. Au revoir.

To the Carole & Tony family
Your house, Nizas, all this part of Languedoc Roussillon. Continue to have special meaning to us. Seems the only place where Andi eases down. What air, view, (wine!) What a place!! Nous retournerons! Thank you. Terry H. & family.

Dear Carole & Tony
Many thanks for providing such a special & magical place.... We're only sorry that this time was so short. I think our favorite memory will be sitting on the balcony at night with the full moon, the bats & the birds all around.... well the birds were before the bats.... and also the breakfast birdsong, morning village noises, promise of another peaceful day wore on this little piece of French paradise.... We enjoyed our glass of wine with you and Tim is very grateful for the e-mail connection. Computer bonding is so essential!! Take good care and we hope to return soon, for a longer visit. Fondly
Sue & Tim

This has been a delightful stay in a most interesting part of France. The weather has been beautiful for our whole stay and our hosts have been extremely good. We have not had any problems but it was nice to know that Tony & Carole were there to help if needed. I will always remember the lovely food and wine of this area as it would be hard to better.
John

A lovely place and delightful people. The French and also our English hosts. Beautiful wines and great Mediterranean colors. Thanks for everything.

Nizas, Pézenas - what a great spot, loads of fun "Swissy" "Sally" & the "cats" provided hilarious moments. 4 mad "aussies" needed an escort from the local vigneron to locate our "digs". Food, produce, & the local "ancient sites" - wonderful, Très bon. A couple of us now look us if we could fit in well in those "ancient sites". Love the laid back lifestyle but not quite in your league when it comes to "drinking".

Dear Carole & Tony -
Merci beaucoup for your kindness, help & friendship. Nizas is indeed a heaven on earth and there are five angels residing here! (not including the furry ones!) Bonne chance with your continuing renovations, exciting internet projects, etc... Lets stay in touch and I hope you'll come visit us in Los Angeles soon! Love Elizabeta
and Mina (the dog)

Carole & Tony
Southern France is our favorite place on earth and Nizas might very well be the best place in southern France it was great coming "home" every day after hours of sightseeing, eating, tasting wines, eating some of the 300 to 400 French cheeses, and marveling at the varied geography that is southern France. France is a never-ending source of history, from prehistoric times to yesterday, when the stone wall up the road collapsed. I don't know where our next French trip will take place but Nizas will always be a special place for us. Mike & Roz, Calif.

Tony, Carole, Kids + Pets To think that we stayed in a 1000-year old village, but in a Villa so comfortable and well equipped is mind-boggling. Your whole family made our stay so very pleasurable!

Dear Carole & Tony
With regret we leave tomorrow. We have loved the peace & quiet we enjoyed here. We lead such busy lives in Oz. That tranquility and time together is not easily achieved at home. Thank you for your hospitality & help. We will never forget our stay in Nizas. Lorraine & Eric Ringlose

From these old stones you have erected a new home full of respect for the past and in the images of your beautiful children full of hope for the future. We enjoyed sharing this with you.

Retired people like us have plenty of time to observe that most things are going worse the world over. From that point of view, it is a great surprise, that is still is possible to find a place like this - so different. This very old house offers a combination of medieval history with peace, quietness and a different everyday life. We have not had keys to the door, but after a 2 months stay, it has rather not been need for them. Unbelievable! We have been very comfortable with a young family living next door. For a foreign country with a foreign language it is good to have a kind and friendly support from the hosts - and there charming dogs. We will miss you all. We wish you all the best.

Thanks to all for a wonderful stay here at Nizas. Coming from a part of the world where our 80 - year old house is considered "old", it is a profound experience to be here. The beauty of the region, the wonderful food, the kindness of the people, and your generous hospitality have all exceeded our hopes. Our only regret : we have to leave... But we depart looking forward to our return. Wishing you all the best.

Dear Tony, Carole, Miranda, Clio, Jack, Swissy & Sally,
The world stopped spinning and we got off in Nizas. We couldn't have chosen a better spot! We loved our little villa with its sunny balcony, yummy lunches and cheap wine. Thank you for your warm hospitality and your knowledge of the area. We certainly felt like we where staying with friends and our boys were very taken by Jack ! (and the Pokémon flyers of course!). Now we plan to come back in 2010 with our friends (no kids this time so no babysitting required thanks for this time), so Tony - unless you're made your millions (which I think is on the cards), we hope to see you all again........
....unless you made it to Australia in the mean time...
we'll show how to ride kangaroos!!

Thank you for letting us stay at the house, we had a nice stay and a warm, cosy, homelike feeling at the house we hope you enjoy the new year! 'millenium 2000)

Nizas was everything we hoped and lived up to Tony's description of the place on his website. We were only there for a week, but did quite a few day trips. It was great to have such a quiet, peaceful place to return to. The kids loved going down to the village epicerie every day for bread and croissants. I think they really got a taste for what village life is like. We did make a day trip to Provence, but the countryside around Nizas was lovelier and less touristy. We had a WONDERFUL time.

Dear Tony & Carole,
We all loved the village of Nizas and nearly Pezenas. I can see coming back again and again. When we wanted a quiet walk Nizas was wonderful. When we practiced our French on the residents, every one was so helpful and incredibly friendly. We took long walks on the back roads and paths that were great for our hearts and minds. Pezenas is an interesting town with an incredible number of good restaurants : Après le Déluge, Brasserie Molière, Le vieux coq + more. Your future visitors shouldn't miss the fabulous scenery in the Minervois + St Chinian areas. We hope to return one day.

Dear Carole & Tony,
It's hard to believe that our week here has already come to an end. We've had a wonderful time discovering the area and the Kids have had a wonderful time getting to know Jack and the animals. Thanks so much for babysitting, the wine advice, putting up with my incoming faxes + (not least) the noise from Sara & Theo.

One week has flown. We've enjoyed staying in your villa, the lifestyle seems great although I know it must be a lot of hard work. The vineyards, the entire surroundings are wonderful, including the welcoming and ever so friendly animals - have taken some photos. It is Karls and my first ever time in Europe, it's been an experience!! Thank you. Karl Z. + Sharron C.

22 November 1999 Tony, Carole + Family,
It's so sad that our time has gone. Which means we'll have to come back to finish what we didn't do/see. We came to relax but mainly did the opposite. "It's Thursday it must be Barcelone". We will spread the word about your undiscovered part of the world in our country - the antipodes. If you ever get downunder your welcome anytime.... We admire your industrious labors in making your "paradise". We will return weather its finished or not - will it ever be!! Neville & Ira

Dear Carole and Tony
Michael and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time here in Nizas. One week was not enough time, thank you for all of your help and patience (mail/parcels etc). I will be sending my brother as I know he would love it here. Hope to be back soon. Sincerely Erin Gibson and Michael

July 24, 1999
Dear Tony & Carole
Thank you for a lovely week! Your charming town served as a perfect base for fun excursions for our family - the canyon, nîmes, the "medieval city", the wineries, the caves and the beaches were all fantastic.

July 24, 1999
Its hard to summarize the best vacation our family has ever had into a few paragraphs. Through this experience our children have grown more confident and appreciative of other cultures. The outdoor experiences were a 10 on a 10 scale. The lotto's and fêtes added so much to our fun. Best of all was our relationship with you and Clio, Miranda and Jack. Swimming in Paulhan and my evening glass of wine presented to me at the door wasn't bad either! Best wishes to all!

Our stay in Nizas was everything we expected - and more. Obviously 5 days, just wasn't enough - we were just beginning to really unwind, relax and get into the rhythm of the place ... now it's time to go. Staying in a small town - far away from the tour buzzes and tacky tourist shops - is the only way to experience a region. We highly recommend it!
Great times, great wine, warmth and sunshine - who could ask for more? Thank you, Carole and Tony, for all of your help. It was a delight to meet you, and get to know you ... if only for a few days. Just don't let too many people "discover" Nizas!! A bientôt, Melissa, Adam, Tim

Tony, Carole & family,
We really enjoyed ourselves and appreciate your hospitality. In fact we like it here so much we'll soon be neighbors! Thanks for everything and we'll look forward to seeing you again. Oliver is going to miss Jack!

Thanks for the great vacation. Your place is amazing & much appreciated. I've learned so much with Tony's photo course, despite what seems to shine thru ... (4 out of 10 thank you very much). You've been very patient with me Tony & helped me evolve quite a bit... Carole we appreciate you letting us know about about all the functions & social things. Much thanks, keep in touch! To our friends,
Thank you so much for helping you make our stay a great success. Relaxation, wine and conviviality have made this a perfect spot to kick back in the middle of our European sojourn. Now, its north & West to further adventures. We are definitely looking forward to returning to this lovely corner of heaven & hopefully for a more extended stay. We'll work on rising some capital & look to that little winery & Bistro in the future. Keep in touch & let us know if there's anything we can do to help from back across the big pond. Anything we can do to help expand the Tidswell empire.
Au revoir,
Robert

Dear Tony, Carole, Cleo, Miranda, Jack & Animals -
So we really have to leave this wonderful place that has been our home for the past three weeks. Thank you for everything you have done to make our stay at Murs a success. All of your advice on what to see, where to eat & how to navigate through the French system made it a lot easier & most enjoyable. Also for your friendship & all of the shared wine we are also grateful: very fun evenings spent around your table drinking the local wine. Good luck with the business & we truly plan to be back one day very soon.

To the Tidswell's
All the time Jeff spent "surfing the net" paid of when he found you. We enjoyed our time here and appreciate the laid back lifestyle, which was exactly what we where dreaming of for the last couple of months. The boys love the pets and will truly miss their new friend Jack. Thank you for making this portion of our holiday so easy, travel to and from the trains, and for the use of your car which aloud us to see some of the unforgettable historical sights which otherwise we would only have read about. Jeff and I will for ever remember the beautiful scenery on our morning runs to Pezenas - definitely one of the most beautiful runs we have been on. Thank you for a truly French "cultural" holiday but we will never forget! We will send peanut butter on our return to Canada.
Jared, Austen, Jeff & Kathy

To the Tidswell's,
Thanks for the wonderful trip's & thanks for all the suggestions. We'll send you some peanut butter.

Dearest Tidswell's
I will write this before going joining you for that glass of wine. This has been a wonderful two weeks for us. You have made our stay more pleasant than we could imagine with three small children. Thanks for putting up with the noise. We are sold on the area and will hopefully soon be your neighbors. Thanks for all the great tips. We shall return!! Send Jack to us soon.

To all the Tidswell's,
Your friendship, hospitality & general joie de vivre have been refreshing & almost over whelming - certainly unparalleled in our experience. We will certainly be back soon ... Maybe permanently if we don't scare everyone away: we feel comfortable here.
Again, many thanks.

From the very beginning, surfing on the Internet, we liked this house, this home. The warmth we encountered in the e-mails, made us believe we made a good choice. Arriving in Nizas last Saturday we were surprised by the nice and cute apartment and the lovely atmosphere and hospitality of this house and the family that lives in it.
George

March 4, 1999,
Dear Tony & Carole,
Thanks so much for helpful advice on wine + country sites to see. And especially thank you for your introduction into the French medieval system.

We loved staying in your wonderful home. The sightseeing tips you recommended were great. I especially liked the local sights and the visit to the mairie's tasting room. Your hospitality and kindness will remain a memorable time. Many thanks for your time and help when Cliff needed medical attention. If you are ever in Arizona, we have a great place for you to stay and plenty are days hours to suggest. Chris & Cliff

Dear Tony & Carole,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit France by opening up your home. We have enjoyed the quiet village of Nizas, listening to the bells ring, and looking out over the vineyards. Our stay was much too short yet we have learned a great deal and have enjoyed many wonderful sites. We hope to visit again soon.

Dear Tony and Carole
Thanks so much for making your open available to itinerant tourists. The quiet peaceful area of Languedoc, and Nizas experience, will insure a return trip in the hopefully near future. To not au revoir but a tout à l'heure!!

You have a lovely home and we had a wonderful time. It was perfect for us and our son and what a great job of restoration you are doing. We would love to come back and I'm going to suggest this for our nursing retreat next march. Hope to see you again.

Sue and I send a very special thank-you for the most enjoyable week we have had at Nizas. You looked after us uncommonly well and gave up so much of your time to make us feel at home and comfortable. We certainly hope we can visit Nizas again. Thanks and best wishes to you all.
Philip and Sue from Cheltenham, UK

We all had a fabulous time with you and Carole and your family. I'm looking forward to coming back to the area to see all the things we missed this time around. And I'd be interested in taking one of your photography classes at some point.
Lorrie from Sebastopol CA, USA

We all wanted to thank you for everything that you did to make our visit to Nizas such a special and memorable experience You and carole went out of your way(s) to respond to any of our question, needs, or concerns and insure that we were comfortable, secure and content. You were successful. We were all sad when it was time to leave.
Sari from USA

Hi Carole and Tony I just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful time we had staying with you in Nizas. This was one of the best vacations we've ever had. Your warm hospitality was a major reason for this (and not just the large amount of good wine available cheaply). The little corner of France you are in is a very special place. All the places you recommended we visit were worth seeing. By providing recommendations about places to eat, caveaux to visit and towns to explore you helped us get a much better idea what "being local" might really be like. Boston seems entirely too busy now that we're back. Thanks again.
Jonathan from Boston USA..

Our Grateful thanks to Carole and Tony for such a wonderful adventure. We shall always be grateful for your help and friendship. This is a very special village with very special people.
Alex and Myrah from Ballina Australia.

What a wonderful week! We have felt relaxed and completely at home from the start. Many thanks to Carole and Tony for their care.
Sue and Philip from Cheltenham UK.

What a wonderful surprise and village we discovered! The views, the hospitality and your helpfulness made our extended stay most enjoyable Good luck in your endeavors.
Laura from USA

This family has been pleasantly surprised by all wonderful hospitality here in Nizas. Our kids loved meeting your family and we'd love to return once again! Quelle belle provence!
Karla, Tom, Shawna and Wesley from Montreal Canada.

Thank you so much for a great place to stay and your warm hospitality. It would have been nice to have stayed longer but perhaps next time! Even though we were here a short time we got a feel for life here in and around Nizas. Thanks.
Janet, from Springfield Missouri USA

We have spent two wonderful weeks in this medieval village and charming house, with great views from the terrace. During our holiday we have walked through the vineyards, visited ancient towns in the beautiful area of Languedoc and of course enjoyed the local produce. We thank family Tidswell and wish them good luck.
Jurgen, Karin, Martin and Henrik from Sweden.

Dear Carole and Tony. We thank you for a week in heaven Nizas was just what we looked for and your house gave us the perfect setting for our stay in Herault. We have enjoyed the cooking with all the excellent raw materials of the region. After a week we realize how much more there is to explore, so we will return! Best wishes for you all.
Knut, Andrine and Elise from Norway

The family would like to say thank you for one week with happiness and joy! This is a "paradise" for everyone and the days have gone by too fast! We hope to be back later to enjoy more of this region with marvelous nature and nice people! Best wishes to you.
Henrik, Jove, Charlotte and Henriette from Norway

It has been our dream for some time to visit rural France and to stay at a private home and thank goodness for Tony and Carole and their internet advertisement! We are now at the end of a very enjoyable and relaxing visit, we have eaten the 'huitres" and "moules", drunk Guillem's excellent wine, strolled through the lovely ancient streets of Nizas, been super-shoppers in Pezenas and in the end had our dream come true 'chez Tidswell". Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your warm hospitality, your kindness, for sharing with us your fabulous home, for the directions that you sent us to broaden our experience, for the fun that we had with you, for the opportunity to enjoy spending time with the gracious and charming Clio, Miranda and little Jack. WE HAD A BLAST, we'll be back.
Chris Debbie, Jessica Christina and Grandma Dorotha. from USA

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Just what we needed to completely relax. We have always loved this part of France and we will be back again. Your hospitality(and generosity with red wine!) will be long remembered and our girls will take home lovely memories of their 'friends in France'. Hoping to see you soon.
Amanda, Mark, Keira and Jenna from Isle of Man, UK

This was a perfect introduction to the South of France! Your hospitality is incredible and Tony, your knowledge of the surrounding area and things to do (interesting things) in the area is exceptional. I had a wonderful stay and hope to come back again...and again.
Lorrie from Boston USA.

Carole and Tony You have a wonderful home. Many thanks for sharing it with us. I have thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation, food, good sights and wine. I really appreciated your good beds, furniture and bathrooms. Good luck in the future and I will pass on the good word. Our Saturday night in the "maison des fetes" will live in the memory for ever! The characters, the food, the fun and of course the "vin". Just one of the many great experiences that Nizas has to offer. Thanks for your hospitality.
Margaret and Graham from Forrest Australia.

Lovely village, friendly people and your home is wonderful. Will start saving for my next trip as soon as I get home.
Dear Tony and Family. It is with deep regret that I must approach this project with honesty tinged with sincere earnestness. The premier wine celebration allowed me to unfortunately exhibit my complete lack of proficiency in dancing the tango with three of the most beautiful women of this village. The copious quantities of local wines, however, allowed me to quickly forget this wonderful event that night. However I will probably never forget my visit to Nizas! I would like very much to return.
Karen and Jim, from Canberra Australia.

Tony and Carole. Thank you Thank you for the splendid home away from home! The peace and quiet, after a noisy week in Paris was a lovely way to end my first trip to France! Your charm and hospitality are to be admired Amie, from California USA

As the tones of the autumn fall upon the serried vines of Nizas, and I gaze for the last time from my little window high in the old town walls, I send not to ask for whom the clock-tower bell tolls - it tolls for me! And one day I will come back and borrow the key. In the meantime, I will remember the good company and most comfortable lodgings of Tony and Carole in the heart of the Herault. Bonheur lui-meme.
Shane, from Brunswick Australia.

Dear family of Tidswells. I woke this morning to the town bells and snuggled in to enjoy a few more moments in this lovely little corner of the earth. Tony, Carole, Clio, Miranda and, of course, dear Jack we shall never forget your letting us be a part of your lives in the village of Nizas. It is hard to be torn away from the gorgeous view of vineyards from our terrace and our 'home for a bit'. You have all been so welcoming and attentive, thanks. We loved: Chez Titou, the picnic day, St. Ferreol, La Clape, La Boucherie, Suissy and Sally - Thank you again - we shall return. Much success in your plans for the future.
Rick and Kathy from Napa Valley USA.

Tony, Carole and Family. Your generosity has touched us deeply. We appreciate all you have given with your time, stories, experience et al. We very much hope to share such joyful evenings and days again. Wishing you well in the coming year. Joyeaux Noel.
Amie and Bill, from USA
